Bayern Munich 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain: Les Parisiens secure consecutive Champions League finals

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain battled to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, as the Parisians progressed to the final 6-5 on aggregate.

Ousmane Dembele broke the deadlock inside three minutes, rifling home from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s clever cut-back to put the visitors in front.

Moments later, Nuno Mendes denied Michael Olise from point-blank range before Kvaratskhelia’s curling strike was comfortably gathered by Manuel Neuer at the other end.

In the 23rd minute, Luis Díaz came close to levelling for the hosts after skipping past Warren Zaire-Emery, but he blazed his effort over the bar before Michael Olise’s curling effort drifted just wide.

Moments later, Matvey Safonov pushed away Harry Kane’s low effort as the Bavarians pressed for an equaliser, before VAR dismissed their penalty appeals after Marquinhos’ clearance struck João Neves’ raised arm.

At the other end, Joao Neves nearly doubled PSG’s advantage, meeting Vitinha’s free-kick at the back post, but Neuer produced a fine save to deny the Portuguese.

On the stroke of half-time, Safonov was called into action again as he kept out Diaz’s deflected strike before Jonathan Tah headed Joshua Kimmich’s cross wide.

Shortly after the restart, Aleksandar Pavlovic saw his long-range effort float well over the bar.

At the other end, Neuer produced two fine stops to thwart Desire Doue and Kvaratskhelia, keeping Bayern in contention.

Moments later, Josip Stanišić tried his luck from distance but sent it over before Safonov quickly denied both Díaz and Olise with sharp consecutive stops.

Deep into stoppage time, Kane brought the hosts level after being picked out by Alphonso Davies, before finishing calmly with a left-footed strike.

Paris Saint-Germain have reached back-to-back Champions League finals and will face Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.
