Tottenham reach a verbal agreement to appoint Igor Tudor as interim boss until the end of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement to appoint Igor Tudor as their interim head coach until the end of the season, according to The Athletic.

Following the dismissal of Thomas Frank on Wednesday, Spurs opted for a short-term solution to guide the club for the remainder of the season, with the Croatian identified as the preferred candidate.

Frank left the North Londoners after only eight months in charge, with his final game being a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday.

The defeat became the club’s 11th league defeat of the campaign, with the Lilywhites currently sitting 16th in the PL standings, five points above the relegation zone.

Tudor began his coaching career with Hajduk Split in 2013 and since then managed PAOK, Karabukspor, Galatasaray, Udinese, Hellas Verona, Marseille, Lazio and most recently Juventus.

The 47-year-old joined Juventus in March 2025, replacing Thiago Motta on an interim basis, but was fired in October due to poor results.

Igor Tudor previously worked with Tottenham’s former co-sporting director Fabio Paratici during his time as assistant to Andrea Pirlo at Juventus in the 2020/21 campaign.

He is already familiar with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from their previous time together and also worked with Randal Kolo Muani last season, experience that could help him instil greater structure and discipline at Tottenham.
