City seek to close the gap at the top as they visit high-flying Eagles

Manchester City travel to the capital to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Palace enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win at Shelbourne in the Conference League on Thursday.

The Eagles also secured a late 2-1 win at Fulham last time out.

City defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in midweek’s Champions League clash at the Bernabéu.

Pep Guardiola’s side continued their impressive run in the Premier League as they claimed a 3-0 victory over Sunderland in their last PL outing.

Match preview

Crystal Palace are winless in their last 10 Premier League home games against Man City (D3 L7) since a 2-1 victory under Alan Pardew in April 2015.

Manchester City have lost just two of their last 20 Premier League games against Crystal Palace (W13 D5), with both defeats in that run coming at the Etihad Stadium.

Both teams have scored at least twice in each of the last four Premier League meetings between Palace and City, with two 2-2 draws and 4-2 & 5-2 victories for the Citizens.

The Eagles have opened the scoring in the opening 10 minutes in four of their last six Premier League meetings with Man City but have failed to go on to win any of these (D1 L3).

Guardiola’s side are the leading Premier League scorers this season with 35 goals, while they also lead the way for xG (30.0).

Palace have won 26 points after 15 Premier League matches this season (W7 D5 L3), their best ever start to a campaign, while it’s double the total they had at this stage last season (13).

Manchester City have won their last three Premier League matches, scoring at least three goals in each win, last doing so in more in a row in April 2024 (4).

Crystal Palace’s Eddie Nketiah has scored 21 of his 24 Premier League goals in London (18 at home, 3 away), the highest percentage of any player to score 20 goals in the history of the competition (87.5%). His last 12 goals have been scored in the capital, the longest run by an English player since Cole Palmer between January and May 2024 (13).
