Benjamin Šeško set to be sidelined for a month with knee injury

Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko is set to be out of action for a month with a knee injury he sustained at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just before the international break, Sky Sports reports.

He was forced off with an injury in the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the 82nd minute after coming on as a second-half substitute.

Sesko withdrew from Slovenia’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Sweden, returning to Carrington for further assessment.

Subsequent scans indicated that the striker avoided any major ligament issues.

The 22-year-old arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer for a reported fee of £74m and has struggled to impress at Old Trafford.

He has registered two goals and one assist across 11 Premier League appearances.

The Slovenian is known for his aerial ability, pace and physicality, and his absence will be a great miss for Ruben Amorim’s side.

United are currently seventh in the Premier League standings, and Joshua Zirkzee could see more playing time in Sesko’s absence.

The former Leipzig man will miss upcoming Premier League fixtures, including Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham, and potentially Wolves and Bournemouth if there are any delays.

The Red Devils resume Premier League action against Everton as they welcome the Toffees to Old Trafford on Monday.
