Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement to sign Fabio Silva from Wolves, according to The Athletic.
Silva joined Wolves from Porto for a then-club record fee worth £35 million in the summer of 2020 but has struggled to make a significant impact at Molineux.
Despite flashes of potential, Silva’s last Wolves appearance came in the first half of the 2023/24 season against Crystal Palace before his loan switch to Rangers.
He had loan spells at Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Rangers before he was loaned to Las Palmas last season.
He made 24 appearances, scoring 10 goals and recording three assists in an impressive spell in Spain, yet could not prevent the side from dropping into Spain’s Segunda Division.
The forward was called up by senior international manager Roberto Martínez for a UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.
He debuted on 18 November in the 1–1 away draw, and Martínez praised him as offering a different style of play to legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonçalo Ramos.
The Portuguese international’s departure from Molineux has added to the list of mass exodus from the English club, with Matheus Cunha, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Gonçalo Guedes, Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia all having left the club this summer.
Wolves have also rejected a £55m bid from Newcastle for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The 23-year-old joins fellow summer arrivals Jobe Bellingham, Carney Chukwuemeka, Daniel Svensson, Yan Couto and Patrick Drewes at Dortmund.
