Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
The 26-year-old has been excluded from PSG’s UEFA Super Cup squad for their clash against Tottenham Hotspur in Udine, Italy.
He has refused to sign a new deal at Parc des Princes, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2026.
Due to his uncertain future, the Parisian outfit opted to sign a new goalkeeper from Lille, 23-year-old French shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier.
The arrival of Chevalier relegated Donnarumma down the tier of Luis Enrique’s goalkeeping list, as he will become the second-choice goalkeeper.
Despite being crucial to Les Parisiens’ historical treble-winning season in the 2024/25 campaign, the higher-ups have been reluctant to give in to the Italian skipper’s demands, as they are ready to open doors to his exit.
There is good news for the Italian, though; several clubs are interested in him. As explained by Fabrizio Romano, several English clubs are eyeing “Gigio”.
The Premier League now appears to be the most likely destination in the event of his departure. But while PSG has shown him the exit door, Donnarumma intends to remain in control of his own future.
Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in the shot-stopper, but PSG’s demands will determine their next move, with Chelsea not in talks to sign him, despite links.
The Red Devils are striving to address their goalkeeping problems, as this will be a perfect opportunity for Ruben Amorim’s side to improve immensely on the other end of the pitch.
The Blues have been tipped off to sign Donnarumma due to their lack of a top-tier shot-stopper over the years, but Enzo Maresca fully trusts his goalkeepers for the new season.
His entourage continues to explain that he won’t leave just anywhere or under any conditions.
