Nottingham Forest has made an offer for Soungoutou Magassa

Nottingham Forest bids to secure the signature of Soungoutou Magassa from AS Monaco for an undisclosed fee, according to Foot Mercato.

The Reds are seeking to strengthen their midfield options after Danilo left for Brazilian side Botafogo ahead of the new Premier League season.

Massaga will be Forest’s fifth signing of the season if a deal can be struck between the two clubs.

The 21-year-old midfielder has attracted interest from several European clubs due to his breakout season in 2023/24, as he cemented his place in the first team, making him a key player for The Rock in the following season.

Monaco has made a move to improve its squad with the arrival of Paul Pogba, Ansu Fati and Eric Dier, but the departure of the Frenchman will disrupt the plans of the Ligue 1 side.

The Frenchman is a versatile player and capable of playing central defence as well as his best position, defensive midfielder.

He finished the 2024/25 season strong, as he played 21 Ligue 1 matches and seven Champions League matches.

His international career has had a string of success, where he recently participated with France in the 2024 Olympic Games, which saw them finishing with a silver medal, losing to Spain.

Magassa will be an exciting and promising addition for the English side, as he will offer energy and defensive duties.
