Bournemouth reach agreement with Stade Rennais over Adrien Truffert

Bournemouth are set to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.

According to Le Parisien, the Cherries have reached an agreement with Stade Rennais over the transfer of Adrien Truffert.

The French outfit turned down two bids from Bournemouth before accepting a fee worth up to €17 million for the talented left-back.

Truffert is an academy product of Rennes, who progressed through its youth ranks to earn his senior debut in September 2020.

He has been a regular for the Ligue 1 outfit over the years, making 191 appearances across all competitions and scoring nine goals.

The 23-year-old missed just one league game through suspension last season, as Rennes secured a 12th-placed finish in the French top-flight.

He produced excellent numbers in Ligue 1 last campaign, averaging 1.6 clearances, 1.8 tackles and 4.2 ball recoveries per game.

Given the fee and the enormous potential of the France international, Bournemouth look to have made a brilliant acquisition.

They are set to lose Milos Kerkez to Liverpool but have brought in a perfect replacement in Truffert, who is young and has proven his abilities in a top league.

Bournemouth have made huge progress since Andoni Iraola took over the club as manager in 2023.

They are playing an attractive brand of football under the Spanish boss, which has also been delivering excellent results for them.

Given his impressive work at the Vitality Stadium, Iraola deserves good backing in the transfer market.
