How to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America

The 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada will be the standout sporting event staged during the calendar year.

A total of 16 host cities will host the World Cup – 11 in the US, three in Mexico and two in Canada. The tournament runs from June 11, 2026, until July 19, 2026.

The revamped tournament will feature 48 teams for the first time and is the first to be staged across three different nations.

There will be 12 groups of four teams in the group stage. The top two in each section, plus the eight best third-placed teams, will progress to the last-32.

The tournament will run as a straight knockout from that point, with extra-time and penalties used to determine the outcome of games if required.
