Kick-off time of Manchester United vs Coventry City game changed amid public order concerns

The Football Association have reportedly changed the kick-off time for the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester United and Coventry City after it was deemed to be a ‘high-risk’ fixture.

According to the Daily Mail, the second FA Cup fixture will start at 3:30 pm on Sunday 21 April, with Manchester City vs Chelsea kicking off at 5:15pm on the previous evening.

The FA initially requested a 4pm kick-off for United’s game with Coventry but later agreed to start the fixture half-an-hour earlier after talks with the police who expressed public order concerns in latest Man Utd news

Manchester United booked their place in the semi-final after a stunning 4-3 win over Liverpool last Sunday.

The Reds looked on the verge of success after Harvey Elliott put his side ahead in extra time at Old Trafford.

But Marcus Rashford equalised before Amad Diallo popped up with the winner deep in extra time.

Erik ten Hag’s side lost 2-1 to Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final at Wembley, with Ilkay Gundogan scoring a brace.

But they now have a chance to reach another final, where City could once again be their opponents.

Ten Hag has been under a lot of pressure this season, with United likely to miss out on a Champions League berth.

The Dutch boss will likely be sacked at the end of the campaign, but he could save his job with success in the FA Cup.
