Everton’s next game will see them take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Toffees suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to West Ham United last time out, while United lost to Manchester City on Sunday.
Match Preview
Manchester City cruised past Manchester United 3-1 last weekend in the derby at the Etihad Stadium.
Erik ten Hag’s side made an ideal start to the away encounter as Marcus Rashford struck a sensational long-range goal.
But City made a brilliant comeback in the second-half as Phil Foden equalised by arrowing a left-footed drive into the top left-corner on 56 minutes.
The England international then added another before Erling Haaland compensated for missing a sitter by slotting home a third.
The latest defeat means United’s top-four hopes are now almost over, as they find themselves an incredible 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
On the other hand, Everton also endured a difficult weekend as they lost at home to West Ham United.
Manager Sean Dyche started Beto in place of Dominic Calvert-Lewin but the Portuguese striker failed to convert a first-half penalty.
However, the 26-year-old put his side ahead with a brilliant header after 56 minutes in the Goodison Park encounter.
Kurt Zouma equalised for the visitors before Thomas Soucek extended their advantage with a superb shot.
Edson Alvarez then capped off an excellent comeback with another goal deep into the stoppage time.
The Toffees regained four points after their penalty for breaching spending rules was reduced.
But the latest defeat leaves them in 16th place in the Premier League standings with 25 points.
Team News
Both Marcus Rashford and Jonny Evans were taken off in the second-half of the Manchester derby and Erik ten Hag later admitted the duo were not fully fit for the match in Man Utd news. As for Everton, they will hoping to welcome Idrissa Gueye back from injury but Arnaut Danjuma and Dele Alli will be missing the away encounter on Saturday
