Everton received a big boost to their survival chances after the 10-point penalty was reduced to six. They have now climbed to 15th in the Premier League table with five points above the relegation zone.
However, Sean Dyche’s side still cannot be very relaxed about their situation as Everton’s three crucial fixtures in March await them that could decide whether they secure their top-flight status or not. Below we will discuss these matches in detail.
Everton vs West Ham United – March 2 (H)
West Ham United were yet to win a top-flight game in the new year before their home match against Brentford at the weekend. However, they ended their dismal run emphatically by defeating Thomas Frank’s side 4-2 at the London Stadium.
The Hammers will be tough to beat for Everton even if they will be playing at Goodison Park. We are backing the two sides to play out a draw on Saturday.
Everton 1-1 West Ham
Manchester United vs Everton – March 9 (A)
Erik ten Hag’s side have been consistently inconsistent this season. They were expected to win against Fulham last weekend after entering the game on the back of four consecutive Premier League victories. But United slumped to a 2-1 loss after goals from Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.
Everton will fancy their chances when they travel to Manchester next month, but their recent head-to-head record doesn’t give them a lot of hope as they have lost their previous four meetings with United.
Manchester United 2-1 Everton
Bournemouth vs Everton – March 30 (A)
Bournemouth are enduring a miserable run of form at the moment as they haven’t won any of their previous seven top-flight fixtures. Andoni Iraola’s men looked on course for a top half Premier League finish following their excellent performances in November and December.
But things have gone downhill for the Cherries in the last two months as they are now just eight points off the drop zone. Everton should prevail over Bournemouth when the two sides meet at the Vitality Stadium at the end of March.
Bournemouth 1-2 Everton
