Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat when they square off with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The Gunners couldn’t reclaim their spot at the summit after losing 2-0 to West Ham United, while Marco Silva’s side have dropped to 13th in the league standings.
Match Preview
Fulham haven’t had much to cheer about during the festive period as they have lost three consecutive matches in the English top-flight.
The Cottagers’ latest fixture saw them suffering a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The hosts cruised to a comfortable victory after goals from Justin Kluivert, Dominic Solanke and Luis Sinisterra.
The result leaves Fulham just six points above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
It looked Marco Silva’s side have got their campaign back on track after they sealed two emphatic wins over Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
But their subsequent displays have been highly disappointing as they went on to lose against Newcastle United, Burnley and most recently Bournemouth.
On the other hand, Arsenal missed the chance to regain the top spot after falling to a frustrating 2-0 defeat against West Ham earlier this week.
Gabriel Jesus squandered two big scoring opportunities while Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos scored to help David Moyes’ side to a comfortable victory.
The Gunners are competing with Liverpool and Manchester City for the league title, and so they cannot afford to drop more points.
The North Londoners look in need of a top-quality striker at the moment, and they may look to sign one in the January transfer window.
Team News
Fulham will not have the services of Adama Traore and Tim Ream as both are recovering from their respective injuries. Willian’s availability is also doubtful, but Raul Jimenez will likely return to the team after serving his three-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be missing Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Fabio Vieira due to fitness issues for Sunday’s clash. But Kai Havertz is available for selection after serving his one-game suspension against West Ham.
Fulham vs Arsenal potential line-ups
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Adarabioyo, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Iwobi; Jimenez
Arsenal: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
Fulham vs Arsenal prediction
Arsenal’s performance was disappointing against West Ham in midweek but we expect them to bounce back on Sunday by securing full points against Fulham, who have been on a poor run.
