West Ham United will return to Premier League action this weekend as they visit Turf Moor to take on Burnley.
Vincent Kompany’s side have picked up only four points from their opening 12 games and are currently at the bottom of the standings.
Match Preview
The Clarets posted a record 101 points last season to secure promotion from the Championship. They were expected to quickly settle into life back in the English top-flight after spending around £100 million on new recruits in the summer.
However, Kompany’s men have endured a miserable Premier League campaign so far, losing an incredible 10 matches.
Their last victory came back in October when they overcame Luton Town 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.
Since then, the Lancashire outfit have lost five matches on the trot, conceding 14 goals in the process. Their last defeat came at the hands of Arsenal who comfortably ran out 3-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium.
Burnley are now set to face West Ham in what is expected to be a tough contest for the hosts.
David Moyes’ men headed into the international break on a positive note after winning three of their last four matches in all competitions. The impressive run came after three consecutive defeats in the Premier League saw them drop down to 12th.
The Hammers’ final game before the international break was at home against Nottingham Forest, when they prevailed by 3-2.
The Tricky Trees responded well after conceding an early goal as they struck twice through Taiwo Awoniyi and Anthony Elanga to lead the contest 2-1.
But Jarrod Bowen restored parity before Tomas Soucek popped up with a late goal to ensure all three points for the hosts.
Team News
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany will have to deal with a few injury concerns this weekend. The availability of Hjalmar Ekdal, Manuel Benson and Ameen Al-Dakhil are all doubtful, while Lyle Foster will be missing due to mental health reasons.
As for West Ham, Michail Antonio has been sidelined for a few weeks after picking up a knock during the international break. Meanwhile, Jarrod Bowen could also miss Saturday’s league game due to a knee injury.

Burnley vs West Ham United prediction
Confidence is likely to be very low in the Burnley camp after a disastrous 2023-24 campaign in the top-flight. They will have home advantage on Saturday, but recent results at Turf Moor have been very discouraging for them.
We are expecting a comfortable victory for West Ham.
