Manchester City are the top favourites to win the Champions League in 2023-24.
They outclassed Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul to lift the coveted European trophy last season. Now the Citizens will aim to defend their crown this term.
Pep Guardiola’s side have arguably the best squad in the world. In Erling Haaland, they have the most destructive striker who scored an incredible 12 goals last season to become the top scorer in the tournament.
The Norwegian, who is a leading candidate for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, is again expected to shine in Europe’s elite competition.
The Premier League giants lost Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte in the summer while Kevin De Bruyne will be missing for a few months due to injury.
But they still boast one of the best teams, with Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes arriving in the recently concluded transfer window.
Manchester City have also landed the most favourable group stage draw, with RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys their opponents in Group G.
They will begin their European campaign this month when they host Red Star at the Etihad Stadium, with the fixture available to watch via Man City live streams.
It looks almost guaranteed the Manchester outfit will make it to the knockouts.
The toughest challenge could come from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Arsenal from that stage onwards, with all the three European sides investing heavily on new recruits in the summer.
But given City’s form and the quality of players in their ranks, it looks the Champions League holders will go all the way to the final and win the title.
It is very early to make such a bold prediction but the indications so far suggest Pep Guardiola’s men are on course for another great season in Europe.
