Manchester United will be up against Arsenal in a blockbuster Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils haven’t been entirely convincing with their performances and look in need of a few more additions before the transfer window closes.
They beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at Old Trafford, but that could easily have been a different result on another day.
Erik ten Hag’s men subsequently travelled to Tottenham Hotspur who ran out 2-0 winners thanks to Pape Matar Sarr’s strike and an own-goal from Lisandro Martinez.
However, the Manchester giants bounced back to register a 3-2 success over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
The Red Devils made a horrible start to the home encounter, conceding two goals within the first four minutes.
But they turned the game on its head with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro scoring to level the scores.
And then, Bruno Fernandes converted his late spot-kick to complete a superb comeback win over Forest.
On the other hand, Arsenal have been a little better than their rivals on Sunday.
Two wins and a draw from their first three matches have moved them to fifth in the league standings, with a point ahead of United.
They kicked off their new campaign with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest before edging Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park, despite playing with 10-men for the final 20 minutes.
However, the Gunners were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw in their latest Premier League clash with Fulham last weekend.
Goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah within the space of two minutes in the second-half put them 2-1 ahead after Andreas Pereira’s early opener.
But Joao Palhinha popped up with a late equaliser to ensure the spoils of the game were shared.
Arsenal have made some huge investments on new recruits this summer, bringing in Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz.
Timber is out injured for a lengthy spell while Rice and Havertz are yet to justify their heavy price tags with their performances.
Manager Mikel Arteta missed out on the Premier League title last season despite his side leading the table for the majority of the season.
The Spanish boss will aim to mount another title challenge this term, and they will receive a huge confidence boost if they beat Man Utd this Sunday.
Team News
Arsenal have a few injury worries this weekend, with Jurrien Timber a definite absentee. Mohamed Elneny is back in training but he is yet to feature for the Gunners this season. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus could be involved again after his substitute cameo against Fulham.
As for Manchester United, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malacia will all sit out the game due to fitness issues. But Ramus Hojlund is expected to be part of the squad after missing their first league matches of the campaign.
