The schedule for PSL 8, the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The country’s popular sporting event will begin on February 13 and will conclude on March 19. The venues for the matches will be Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan.
All PSL 8 games will be available via live cricket streaming sites as well as numerous TV channels and digital streaming services around the world.
PSL 8 Preview
Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will be looking to make a positive start when they take on Multan Sultans in the opening match of the PSL 8 on February 13.
This will be a replay of last year’s final when the Qalandars thrashed their opponents by an incredible 42 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium.
The Fawad Rana-owned franchise will now be aiming to lift back-to-back titles, something which hasn’t happened since the T20 league first started in 2016.
Peshawar Zalmi came closest to achieving this feat in 2018 when they made it to their second successive final after winning the 2017 edition. But they lost the final to Islamabad United, failing to chase down their 155 runs target.
PSL 8 Host Cities & Stadiums
The PSL 8 will be held in two legs with Multan Cricket Stadium (Multan) and National Bank Cricket Arena (Karachi) serving as venues for the matches played from February 13 to 26. The cricketing action will then shift to the Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore) and Pindi Cricket Stadium (Rawalpindi) which will host all the remaining games from February 26 to March 19.
Each team plays the group stage matches in a double round-robin format, with the four sides having the most points qualifying for the playoffs, culminating in the final.
The soft launch of the Pakistan Women’s League will also happen this year, with three exhibition matches set to take place on March 8, 10, and 11.
