Arsenal will be looking to cement their place at the top of the Premier League when they welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
Mikel Arteta’s side have made an impressive start to the 2022-23 season, suffering only a defeat to Manchester United while winning all their other matches in all competitions.
The Gunners were last in action in the Europa League where they thrashed Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt 3-0.
Eddie Nketiah, Rob Holding and Fabio Vieira were all on target as the North London side picked up two wins from two European games to top the Group A.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will enter the Premier League match on the back of a 2-0 win over Rangers in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side bounced back after suffering a 3-3 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
They eased past their Scottish rivals in the battle of Britain, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah scoring a goal each.
Match Preview
Arsenal
The Gunners recent record against their rivals on Sunday has been terrible, with the Londoners losing four of their previous five matches in all competitions. Arsenal have also failed to score in any of their last six matches in the Premier League and League Cup against the Reds.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side will now enter as favourites against Liverpool who have been very unconvincing with their performances this season.
Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s side were chasing an unprecedented quadruple last season. However, they narrowly missed out on the Champions League and the Premier League trophies but managed to win the FA Cup and the EFL Cup last term.
Liverpool have seen a huge drop in form this season as they are ninth in the league table and have been far from convincing in Europe as well.
Team News
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a few injury woes this weekend, with Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny sidelined with muscle issues. The Spanish manager made several changes in midweek but he is expected to feature his best playing XI for the important game on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will not have the services of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur and Curtis Jones as they are all recovering from injuries.
