Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their humiliating derby defeat when they travel to Omonia for their Europa League Group E clash.
Erik ten Hag’s side were expected to give a tough contest to Manchester City last weekend but they slumped to a disappointing 6-3 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.
The Red Devils conceded four goals by the interval but made a comeback in the second-half to make the scoreline somehow less emphatic.
Anthony Martial bagged a brace late in the game after Phil Foden and Erling Haaland completed their hat-tricks of goals.
Meanwhile, Omonia have failed to make a good start in Europe and are at risk of an early exit.
They suffered a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Sheriff Tiraspol before Real Sociedad edged past them with a 2-1 victory at the Estadio Anoeta.
The Cypriot side came close to snatching a point at Sociedad after Bruno Felipe cancelled out Ander Guevara’s goal. However, Alexander Sorloth struck a late winner to seal full points for his side.
Match Preview
Omonia
Omonia are currently being managed by Neil Lennon who took over the club in March. The former Celtic boss has made a great impact as he led his side to victory against Belgian cup winners Gent in the Europa League play-offs to qualify for the group stages.
Omonia is one of the most successful clubs in Cyprus, with an incredible 21 National Championships to their name. However, they are an unknown name in Europe and are currently looking highly likely to suffer an early exit.
Manchester United
Erik ten Hag’s side suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in their Champions League opener last month. However, they bounced back in their next European match to claim a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sheriff at the Zimbru Stadium.
Manchester United took an early lead through Jadon Sancho before Cristiano Ronaldo struck his first goal of the season before the interval. The fate of the game never looked in question as the Red Devils sealed full points confidently.
Team News
Omonia boss Neil Lennon doesn’t have a lot of injury woes this week, with Moreto Cassma the only player to be a major doubt for the next home encounter. The 24-year-old picked up a knock against Sociedad and his availability is doubtful on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Raphael Varane will likely sit out the game after he was forced off injured in Sunday’s derby. Harry Maguire will be missing as well while Martin Dubravka and Donny van de Beek are both doubts.

Omonia vs Manchester United Prediction
Omonia have seen a revival in their domestic form but they have been far from convincing in Europe this season. Manchester United will be very keen to get back to winning ways and they couldn’t have asked for better opponents than the Crypiot side.
Omonia 0-3 Manchester United
