Manchester City will be looking to continue their impressive winning run when they host Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Citizens will enter the Champions League match on the back of a spectacular 6-3 victory over Manchester United last weekend.
Pep Guardiola’s side were at their destructive best as they pounded four goals against their bitter rivals in the first-half.
The Red Devils made a good comeback after the interval but City managed to claim an emphatic victory, with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both registering hat-tricks.
Copenhagen, on the other hand, are enduring a difficult start to the 2022-23 season. They won the Danish Superliga last term but have already lost six of their 11 matches to drop down to seventh in the league standings.
However, they ended their losing run last weekend as an 81st-minute strike from Lukas Lerager secured them a 1-0 victory over Aarhus Gymnastikforening.
Match Preview
Manchester City
Pep Guardiola’s side are easily leading Group G as they are the only team to have a perfect record. They comprehensively defeated Sevilla in their opening group game before edging past Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium last month.
City have been trying hard to win their first Champions League but the coveted trophy has been eluding them so far. However, with Erling Haaland leading their attack, they will be hoping to win the prestigious European tournament this season.
Copenhagen
Copenhagen suffered a heavy loss in their Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund who emerged victorious by 3-0. However, the Danish side frustrated Sevilla at the Parken Stadium and managed to take a point from the home encounter.
Copenhagen have met Manchester City two times in the past, with the English giants winning on one occasion and suffering a draw on the other.
Team News
Manchester City’s John Stones will sit out the game on Wednesday as he is recovering from a hamstring issue. While the availability of Rodri and Kyle Walker is also doubtful due to injuries.
Ilkay Gundogan played in a deeper midfield role in the derby and he is expected to retain his place on Wednesday with Kalvin Phillips sidelined with a shoulder issue.
Meanwhile, Copenhagen will also have to deal with a few injury issues as Akinkunmi Amoo and Mamoudou Karamoko are sidelined for lengthy spells.

Manchester City vs Copenhagen Prediction
Copenhagen managed to earn a point in their previous Champions League match against Sevilla. However, it looks very unlikely that they will be able to repeat a similar feat against Manchester City who are in such impressive form at the moment. The Citizens should manage to claim a comfortable victory on Wednesday.
Manchester City 3-0 Copenhagen
