The countdown to the 2022 NFL draft has begun, and young future stars will be looking to take their career in professional football to the next level. They will be taking the big stage live from Las Vegas.
The seven rounds of the Draft are set to begin on April 28 and end on April 30. The schedule is set to take place as follows:
Round 1: Thursday, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
Round 2-3: Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m. ET.
Round 4-7: Saturday, April 30 at noon ET.
This year, the Draft will hold in the Allegiant stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders, who were initially scheduled to host the 2020 Draft but could not due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have been given a second chance.
Draft Order
The order of the Draft is subject to change, and this depends on which teams make what trades. Currently, the first pick belongs to the Jacksonville Jaguars, followed by the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans.
The last pick of the first round should traditionally belong to the Los Angeles Rams since they won the Super Bowl last season but have traded the pick to the Lions.
There will be seven rounds, and each team initially has one pick per round. A total of 262 players will be selected over the Draft’s three days.
You can watch the Draft on NFL Network, ESPN, and ABC.
2022 NFL Schedule
When writing this article, the NFL has not officially released a schedule or release date for the 2022 season’s schedule. However, it has been announced that the release date for the program will be after the Draft.
The Super Bowl winners are usually the host of the opening game, but the NFL has broken tradition on some occasions due to circumstances. If the NFL decides to stick to tradition, the 2022 season will begin, where the 2021 season came to an end at Sofi Stadium. The season will commence on Thursday, September 8, 2022, and all NFL games will be available for streaming.
The season will end on Sunday, February 12, 2023, and Super Bowl LVII will be hosted at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
